Easter Egg Hunt Fun

Saturday, April 4 marked the big day for kids of all ages to hunt for 5,000 eggs, filled with candy and prizes. Several individuals and businesses graciously donated the money to purchase the supplies needed for this much-anticipated yearly event. Here’s a video of just how quick the whole thing goes down… It takes volunteers an hour and a half to spread out the eggs in four areas all across the school property, and about 57 seconds for them all to be picked up. It was great fun!

Pancake Supper this Tuesday night

RotaryLogoThe Carnegie Rotary Club will be hosting their annual Pancake & Sausage Supper tomorrow night, February 17, 2015, at the school Multi-Purpose Building. It’s a great event for everyone, with all-you-can-eat pancakes & Blue & Gold sausage. It only costs $5.00, and it helps support a great cause: scholarships for local students. The Rotary Club members hope to see you there this Tuesday evening!

The 71st Annual Carnegie World Championship Domino Tournament was held at the Carnegie Park on Saturday, February 14, 2015. From an initial slate of 55 teams, the undisputed winners are crowned. Mr. Wright, an Apache resident had previously won the tournament in 1976. Mr. Vice, also from Apache, received his first championship trophy this year. Their opponents in the final round were George Duncan, a Hydro resident, and Howard Hitt of Lookeba. Mr. Duncan had won the tournament in 1990 with partner Don Boykin. Mr. Hitt won the tournament in 1956.
